RM confusion

Post by The Robman »

re: https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7317

Hey Greg,
Whenever I try to convert the upgrade referenced in the above thread into a Slingbox bin file, the resulting bin includes the protocol upgrade, even though it's already present in the Slingbox ROM. So, I created a new KM file that doesn't have the exec code included and the same thing happens.

So, I checked my version of RM and it was 1.58, so I downloaded 1.69 and tried again. This time the "export bin" menu item is grayed out, even though I have a Slingbox selected, so I have no idea what's up.

Any ideas?
Rob

I just found a bug in recent versions of RM (since the introduction of RMIR) that prevents it from enabling the export binary menu item when a Slingbox is selected in the remote pull-down.

Fortunately, there's an easy workaround. After selecting the Slingbox, go to Help -> About. Dismiss the About dialog, and the export binary item will be in the correct state.

RM doesn't import Manual Settings that use built in protocols well.

Try creating the upgrade in RM directly, using the protocol "pid: 01 6C"

To get the desired fixed data of "1C 1F 44 29", enter device numbers 28, 31, 68, 41.
Here's an RM upgrade I created: https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3844

Does this use the "Dreambox" protocol?
