This is the JP1 beginners forum. There's no such thing as a stupid question in here, so post away, but this forum is just for JP1 users and people considering JP1, non-JP1 users please use the appropriate forum above!

Software emulator for 9910 with JP1 interface?

Post by redsands63 »

I have been using many 9910 remotes with JP1 interface (actually... its been so stable it did not used the tools for 2 years)...

Now I have this new need: I want to send commands from my PC to a JP1 connected 9910 so I can manage all my A/V equipement from the PC. (some sort of emulator)

I have a PVR software running on the PC (beyond tv) where the input comes from my home theatre. Having this emulator I could control any A/V devices from anywhere.

Any solutions?

Thanks.

The JP1 interface doesn't allow the remote to be controlled from the PC. It only reads from and writes to the EEPROM and doesn't talk to the processor at all.

That was my assumption...

Would you know of any tools/solution to fill the problem I have? It does not need to be related to JP1 nor the 9910 remote but if it could it would simplify my however small invesment.

Thanks

Searching better I did find solutions like MyBlaster.

Feel free to provide other options.

Thanks.

I might be a little late, but have you looked into a USB-UIRT + Girder? The USB-UIRT can recieve and transmit IR. Girder is very customizable...I am going to start using this solution shortly for basically the same functionality you are looking for.
