Hi Greg, Hi all JP1'ers...
I'm still playing with this file:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=3258
and I'm still trying to arrange a useable upgrade for this Pioneer DVD Recorder to be commanded by my new 9960 B01...
Since IR 6.20 doesn't interpret correctly 9960 B01 keymoves, I was trying to do the upgrade without any keymove planning to program the keymoves directly with the remote's long setup keypress mode... taking note of the EFC I need to accomplish this, I noticed some weird ones...
It seems to me that RM (1.59) doesn't calculate correctly EFC5 codes, when I load that file...
This is because I see several NEGATIVES (-) EFC5 codes, like "-27196" (that IR says it should be "38340" in the Functions list), and even a couple of odd "x-xxx" codes like, for instance, "0-826" (that IR says it should be "64710").
Also, there is a minor quirk I noted in another post, and that shows-up as an abnormally large pop-up window... it is the one that informs you of missing functions when switching from a remote to a different one, and it is larger than my screen!
I believe this happens because there is no line-feed, or the line feed doesn't get interpreted correctly, in the info text that appears just below the window's titlebar...
Hope that what I'm saying makes sense... I'm still very new in the JP1 World and I'm just "getting the big picture" of it...
...all for now, Greg... I hope you'll look into this when you have time
Thanks for your attention... ciao ciao!

There is a very easy to make programming mistake that would cause all numbers in the range 32768 through 65535 to be displayed as numbers 65536 less than the correct value (38340 minus 65536 is -27196 and 64710 minus 65536 is -826).
I expect Greg will find and fix that shortly. Meanwhile at least you understand what is happening. |

Hi John...
Thanks a lot for the explanation... yes, I'm very hapy when people share their knowledge and I appreciate A LOT what you did...
A big part of the fun in JP1 is that you learn a lot of new things and, even if I'm an experienced tech (..in different environments...), I never let down a chance to learn something new...
And, to say it LOUD just in case, mine was a mere bug report, and in no way it may be read as criticism... I have a great respect for the people doing all the hard work here...
I know VERY well that a single comma left in the wrong place when you are wrapping-up things can lead to unpredictable results...
Thanks for showing the relationship between the correct EFC5 and the numbers I'm seeing now...
Ciao!
