Slingbox in the UK

Hello,

i am new here but am in need of some expert advice. I recently purchased a URC-8910 learning remote purely for getting the remote control codes from my Sky Digital, Sky+ and dvd remote. Thus far i have programmed the learning remote (via IR learn mode - as none of my devices were supported by the remote control). I have a jp1 cable, and have downloaded the hex file via ir.exe ... im now unsure what im supposed to do with that hex file!! ive tried the keymap master and also remote master and tried to import the hex code, as of yet unsuccessfully important

- could anybody explain (in detail or just hints) how i can convert this hex file to a rmdu file ready for remote master to create the .bin for my slingbox (and many other uk slingers)

A question posed the way you have is VERY difficult to answer, since there are a great many steps in the process, and you don't describe what part of the process is stumping you. There are several read-me's and FAQ's around this forum, that if you have have already read and are not understanding, you have to tell us what part you cannot get past. One key is learning and using the right terminology. I presume the "hex file" to which you refer is the IR dump from your 8910.

Further, you have to describe any symptoms more precisely.

First, I would read the Beginners, Read this first (linked below in my sig), start with "JP1, how easy is it?" and then ask specific question at steps you don't get.

As for the Slingbox, once you have actually created the upgrades you want, you need to read and follow the procedure outlined by Robman in THIS POST.
