I think you've previously said that the 0614 code didn't work, but that you had some success with 0616. If that's the case, the upgrade you're using won't work. As the notes in the upgrade file state:
Quote: | If you wish to use the Panasonic protocol use the other saved file because the OBC/EFC codes are completely different. |

This is a challenge. This upgrade has some neat stuff, and I want to see it work. I installed in in a reset (981) 8811 remote, but got nothing. What is wrong with the files I uploaded? It is coded as device 2000, right? |

The first file that you linked to is somebody else's file for a different issue.
Given that the ReplayTV upgrade works, as there are alot of people using it - myself included, you probably made some sort of mistake when you copied it over to IR. Therefore, could you load a copy of the actual IR file that you are using to test this please. _________________ Rob

You have selected the 8800 rdf there. That is not the 8811. Try this file from my reset 8811 to see what you need it to look like. This one has the skip forward 1 min through 4 min on M keys and skip back 1 min through 4 min on L keys.
Oh yeah its on the vcr device key.

Just realized that and got it to work on the 8811. I have to play with that for a while and then will try it on the 8800.
Thanks |

Yeah its pretty easy to select the wrong rdf when uploading an upgrade to ir. That will make it not work. |

Got it loaded into the 8800. Not all the keys function as expected, but it is progress. I'll keep working and try not to bother you guys too much at this point.
I still can't explain why rm (this was all done with km) won't give me a good result, but that's another exercise.
Thanks for the guidance. |

Still no joy on the 8800. A lot of keys don't work, 3 min skip doesn't work ,adding a macro 3, skip to macro 2 outputs 3,3,3,skip. remote still outputting multiple commands for a single keystroke. etc.
Rob - can you try this file in an 88009800 and see what you get on the AUX1 (VCR2) with a Replay? It was created by downloading my remote(8800), deleting the existing 0614 and 0145 protocol, and adding the km of replay (with the 0145 protocol) after changing the remote in km from 8811 to 8800. There is a WORKING 0616 in VCR

It's likely that the Replay Advanced protocol code for the 8800 (P8/740 processor) is not quite ready for prime time use, especially with the advanced functions it implements.
I think Mike England ported that code, and he's in China on business, so it may be a while before anything gets done about it. _________________ Mark |

This file looks like one that was generated from scratch in IR, it's generally a better idea to take a download from your remote and then add the upgrades and any other programming that you want to use. The reason for this is that there are sometimes bytes of data that are not accounted for my the RDF as the user doesn't need to change them, but that have some meaning to the remote.
Now, I'm not suggesting that this is the cause of the issues that you are having, but it is a good practice and it does eliminate one of the possible causes. _________________ Rob

Mark: I'll bet you are right! The behavior is bizarre enough to point to that.
Rob: As the post of the file indicates, it was downloaded from my remote. So I think Mark's post points to the problem.
I have just finished setting the 8811 up to do everything, and it seems to control the TV and Component switch (which the Kameleon wouldn't/why I started with the 8800 in the first place). So I will try that for a while, and maybe settle there. Advanced Replay works fine in the 8811.
Thank you both! |

Before you give up on the 8800. See if this ir file works in it. The replay is on aux1.

Sorry. Much of the same screwy behavior. I guess Mark's theory 'not quite ready for prime time' is it.
I'm about back on the 8811 and it is doing fine.
Thanks for the try! |
