receiver tuner buttons

Post by starcycle »

i have a question about setting buttons for specific FM stations when in receiver mode. all i seem to have available in the device upgrade for this receiver (not even the same one, but i didn't see one for the model i have) is the choice to set the channel +/- buttons to that function, meaning i have to scroll through X number of stations just to get to the one i want, instead of just going there directly by pressing 1, 2, 3, etc.

what are my options here? do i have to dump the 8811 memory, "learn" from the receiver remote, figure out the codes somehow (not sure how to do that  ), reload the memory, add the new codes somewhere in the upgrade, etc.? or am i missing some easier way to do it? :?:

Do you have buttons on your original remote that select the FM presets? If so, you should indeed learn them using your URC-8811 and let it tell you what the codes are. If there are other buttons that are on your original remote that are not included in the upgrade that you are using, you should learn and decode those also.

As you sound new to the JP1 process, see if this doc helps...

When posting questions like this, you should always mention the make and model number of the device in question as it's quite possible that one of us already know what the codes are for this device.

Also, although you make "dumping" the memory and "reloading" it seem onerous, it's trivial to save your IR image before you do any learning and then reloading it after you're done. (You Do have a JP1 cable, right?)
