setting up URC 6131

What is the easiest way to go about setting up my store bought URC 6131 to enable it to be compatible with JP1? Any replies would be greatly appreciated.
Specific questions:
- How easy is it to add the 6 pin connector and the chip that is necessary?
- If adding the connector is difficult, is there anywhere I can send my remote away to have this done - and what is the cost?
