I am a newbie to JP1. I have no problem to learn a command, create a function in KM and download that to remote with IR. Everything is fine with ordinary upgrade codes.
My problem is when I assign functions to the buttons (such as @L1 or @ L2), then copy KM to IR. There is only one command copied to keymoves in IR with wrong EFC code and the rest of commands are all missing in Keymoves section.
On the Keymoves Code Box in the setup tab, there are only a few bytes of data even I have assigned 7 functions to the @keys.
Anyone can point me out?
Thanks, I am using Windows XP and Office 2003
I am using the latest KM, IR and RDF files from this sites
Problem to copy keymoves from KM to IR

I can't guess the problem from that symptom. Maybe one of the KM experts can guess. But why make so much of helping you a guess.ck747 wrote: On the Keymoves Code Box in the setup tab, there are only a few bytes of data even I have assigned 7 functions to the @keys.
Use KM's Save button to save your whole upgrade as a .txt file and upload that to the diagnosis folder (post its URL back here).
Then we can load your upgrade into KM ourselves and get some idea what is really happening.

Re: Problem to copy keymoves from KM to IR
If you're assigning functions to "@" buttons on the Buttons sheet that result in key moves, the key move code will be part of the Device Upgrade Code unless you have DISABLE Combined Key Moves checked on the setup sheet.ck747 wrote:My problem is when I assign functions to the buttons (such as @L1 or @ L2), then copy KM to IR. The Key Move Code box should not contain any code unless you have defined key moves on the Key Moves sheet (which you normally wouldn't do when simply defining additional buttons as part of a device upgrade).
Another cause for this might be that your key move space is full. IR will not create key moves if it is. Check the Move/Macro indicator at the lower left side of the IR display.
In addition to seeing your saved upgrade file, I'd be interested in seeing your saved IR file as well.

Thanks for your reply. Now I solved the above problem. I am using KM v8.38 instead of KM v8.34, all @key become part of the device upgrade code and everything seems normal until I hit the copy button. The IR will open automatically, I select Devices tab and press Add, paste the code then hit OK. A message pops up "Invalid character in input". I have tried to remove character in function such as # ( ) but still makes no difference.
If I remove the code from the move key box in IR, I can successfully create a device in the IR.

I just downloaded a sample (Sony TV KV-36HS500 ) upgrade file from File section, it has @key in the KM. The same message "Invalid character in input" came up in IR. I believe the problem could be from somewhere else. (I did try to download the IR and KM again but results were the same.)

When that happens, the way to fix it is to go back and edit you post, then check the "Disable Smiles" option. I just fixed your previous post.ck747 wrote:Sorry for the unexpected icon 8) . Somehow when I type 8 ), this site will display the icon, it is (KM v8.38 )
