Multiple 9910 Remotes and RF
I am setting up a home theater system for a friend. We have a 9910 in family room with RF base as components are behind wood doors. That part works well.
We are adding two additional 9910 remotes for a bedroom and an office that are perhaps 50 feet away. Both of those two rooms will use line of sight and IR for control. The potential problem is that the bedroom uses the same Tivo unit as family room. Is there a way to disable RF on the bedroom remote so it’s signal will not be received by base unit in family and change the channel there as well?

You could get an 8910 instead of the 9910. They look and act the same except that the 8910 doesn't send RF.
You could open up the 9910 and remove (desolder) the "RF puck" that sends the RF. There were several threads long ago about taking the RF puck out of older models and adding it to an 8910 to turn it into a 9910. If you found one of those, it would describe all the details you'd need for doing the reverse.

If the TiVos are the only devices that are causing this problem, just use a different non-zero remote address (unit code in JP1-speak) for each of the TiVos.

Is 1618 an upgrade you installed by JP1 or by .wav file, or what is it? I don't think it is a built in setup code in the 9910 nor an official upgrade from UEI.
What matters in an upgrade is the contents, not the setup code number. You can open any posted Tivo upgrade in KM or RM and change the unit code. If you like you can also change the setup code number. You can then load it into a 9910 the same way you loaded 1618.

In JP1 we use the term Unit Code, although TiVo calls is a "Remote Addresss"
See Controlling Two TiVo DVRs with Separate Remotes
TiVos support unit codes 0-9. 0 is the "universal" unit code. A remote set to unit code 0 will control a TiVo set to any unit code. A TiVo set to unit code 0 will "obey" a remote set to any unit code.
To change the unit code in your URC-9910s, you'll have to load a device upgrade that has the desired unit code. Start with the TiVo Master File.

If you are using the HR10-250, you'll want to read this thread.

I saw that thread earlier. However currently both my and my neighbors HR10-250 is working OK. I use RS 2116 and he has the 9910.gfb107 wrote:If you are using the HR10-250, you'll want to read this thread.

This sounds like the solution. In my friends office he will have a regular DirecTV box (not a Tivo). One 9910 is used there. The family room and bedroom both have Tivos and a separate 9910. Do we need to do something different for the DTV box in his office?gfb107 wrote:TiVos support unit codes 0-9. 0 is the "universal" unit code. No, the Non-TiVo DTV boxes use completely different IR signals than the TiVos.

Then that combo should work well. The TV brands in each room are different as well, which should eliminiate that issue.
Since he also has X10 devices, that should also mean that each of the 9910s will be able to handle X10 commands via reception as the 9910 base in FM where there is an X10 IR controller installed.
He is still beginning to adjust to the substantial change in his overall setup. We went from a normal TV, VCR and multiple remotes to a Plasma HD set (mounted in furniture that raises and lower the set), Bose speaker system, Onyko receiver, Sony DVD, DirecTV HD DVR, X10, and a single remote for all.
The local DTV guy is going to do the custom under floor wiring for speakers and cabling after all else is working fine and speaker locations are determined to be final.
