General Notes missing in IR?

Post by Capn Trips »

I haven't been paying close attention lately, but I just noticed that the latest version of IR (6.15) seems to have lost the General Notes entry capability on the General Tab. When I open IR, that section of the page is blue, like the rest of the frame, rather than white, allowing entries to typed in or displayed. I've confirmed by opening an IR file KNOWN to have extensive notes in the General Tab, but they don't display, either.

I don't know whether I have EVER seen that display with this version of IR, but I DO know that I have used it in the past.

Has anybody else noticed this? or is it just me and my computer (laptop running WinME)

WHOA!!!!

Freaky! :eek:

THIS FILE captures a series of images from my laptop running WinME and IR 6.15.

I have discovered that if the last "non-maximized" screen of IR FROM WHICH I exited the program was sized such that none of the General Notes section of the General tab was visible (page 1 of the attached file), upon subsequent launch, IR
(1) opens in a window of that last non-maximized size, and
(2) even if I subsequently expand the window, or maximize it, this section remains "blue" and inaccessible (pages 2 and 3);

If I close from a MAXIMIZED window (page 2), it remembers the sizing from the last NON-maximized closing (page 1) of the program and behaves as above.

If, however, I expand - without MAXIMIZING - the window to display the General Notes section, and close it from a NON-maximized condition (page 3), upon SUBSEQUENT launch, the notes section is just fine (page 4)!

So although I have it sorted, I think there's a bug of some sort described above. It may not be worth fixing, as the workaround is rather straightforward.

That is FREAKY :twisted:
Ok, I just ran your scenarios on Windows XP-home SP2.
I didn't use Rob's file, but it's unlikely to be related.
Can't replicate. So it sounds like something funny in Win ME.
