kenwood rc-r0805

Post by New2subies »

Hey fellow enthusiests.. got a question for ya.. i have a kenwood rc-r0805 remote laying around and i just purchased the mx500 for 65 bucks. now from what i understand to get the most out of the mx500 i should look into a rs or all in one remote that is jp1 enabled.. Im tryin to keep my costs down, so Im wondering if I could use the kenwood and still do all the things the others can do.. I found a site that confirms this remote is jp1. any info would be appreciated..

There is very little support for this remote here. I have one myself but haven't had the chance to decode it much.

If all you want to do is use it teach discrete commands to your MX-500, the Kenwood will be just fine. If you want a remote that can do everything your MX-500 can and more (except for an LCD for labelling button) at a fraction of the price, you'll want to get something else.
