I am trying to get the OFA URC-8810B00, programmed to operate a Pansat fta satellite receiver. Also have a Hitachi tv, and a DTV Hughes HDTV receiver. Would love to get all of this going. Any help appreciated.
I have downloaded IR.exe, but not sure what to do next. (I have the JP1 cable)
thanks

Have you read JP1 - How Easy Is It?, The WHAT and WHY of JP1, and JP1 for Beginners?

Meaning you found an upgrade file in the Files section? If so, you need to LOAD that into KM, select the proper remote, verify the button assignments, and then copy the code into IR. It's all explained in the documents I referred to in your other post.

For starters, please reply within the appropriate thread. There's no need to start a new topic everytime.

The process of using an exisitng upgrade file is pretty clearly defined in Rob's How Easy Is It doc. What specifically do you need help with?

you have to do a copy paste between KM and IR - use the button in KM to paste and transfer to IR

Please use the [Post Reply] button within the appropriate thread and not the [New Topic] button. Also, you should be asking these question in the Beginner's forum, so I'm moving the message.

IR cannot open a KM file. You LOAD the file in KM, make the necessary adjustments (remote selection, button assignment, etc), and then copy the Device Upgrade code (and Protocol Code if instructed to do so), and paste it into IR on the appropriate tab.

i used the pansat 2300 file for my pansat 2500 and most of it is great. i had to change channel up and down because the codes were wrong. i had to assign 'sat' to a button. i had to delete the volume and mute settings to allow vpt to work with my tv. i had to change nec2 to nec1. i will probably adjust one or two more buttons but my 7800 is working great with the pansat.

Could you please upload the Pansat file to yahoo group files section?

I don't see one there for the 2300 or 2500.

Thanks

Rob: the 2300 txt file was either in the files section for a while or was referenced in someone's thread. i don't remember which. i posted the file for the 2500 so we have a net gain. your comment in another thread about the pansat about nec2 being more sensitive than nec1 really helped me because i wouldn't have known what to do about the sensitivity issue. other edits that i made were more straight forward. i only use my cinema 7 as a remote and have all the devices used. i got so crazy getting them a few years ago that i have a 2nd identical remote on the other side of the couch.
