My wife dropped the 15-1994 today and now the backlight is not working. How do I troubleshoot/fix it? Thanks!

The transformer has probably either become disconnected or broken. Open up the remote and you can't miss it, it's the largest component on the board. You can get a replacement, if needed, from Hovis Direct. _________________ Rob

Another possible common cause - the screws pressing the PCB against upper half of the case or the LCD panel itself may have become loose.

Umm... Hal... there's no LCD on the 1994.
Perhaps you've been working too hard and need to take a break? _________________ Mark |

Doh! The image of 1995/2117 was stuck in my head after reading totally unrelated thread of 1995 in a 2117 case...
Right. Please ignore the "or the LCD panel itself" part.

What's the best way to open the cover? Thanks again! |

When you replace the transformer make sure to cover it with a ton of hot glue so that it doesn't happen again.
