Philips FR964 Receiver

Folks,

Need help - haven't got a learning remote and looking for an upgrade for this receiver to use in a SKY remote control. EEPROM installed, JP1 cable complete and working.

Have tried downloading Philipsfr965HomeTheatre.txt from the files area but it wont load in KM says invalid file. I think whoever uploaded the file has done all the hardwork as codes are listed in there - just not sure how I use them.

Also I was trying the PhilipsFR968 but its says protocol is too large for selected remote - any way around this?

The PhilipsFR965HomeTheater.txt file isn't a KM file... it's a plain text file that appears to provide the details of the FR965 system. You can open it a a text editior (i.e. Notepad) and use the info to create an upgrade to see if it works for your device.

The penny has finally dropped. I hadn't got my head around this JP1 stuff so read through all the beginner notes again and it has finally clicked in. I created an upgrade using the notes in that Philips file and it worked perfectly.

This is pretty cool - my Sky remote will now control the volume on the amp. I might even get the device selects working. When I get it all tested I'll upload an upgrade for my amp.
