I just purchased a modified 6131 and a JP1 cable and am off....!
But a few questions?
1) Will the 6131 do second shift key functions? I believe the answer is no even with the extender, but want to confirm.
2) I have an NAD T742 which I use code 0320 with my Cinema 7 (non JP1), but that does not exist for the 6131. I located a file on the Yahoo group for a NAD HTR2 which I have tried to import. It sets up a code 0752. I am not at home so I can't try it until tonight, but why would the code lists on the two remotes be different?
3) Is there a way to reset a specific device within my 6131 to factory default after I have uploaded changes from IR?
Thanks

1. The 6131 extender does support a second shift key.
2. The setup code assigned to a device upgrade is somewhat arbitrary. The only hard and fast rule is that you can't use the same value as another code that you are using for another device (builtin or not). UEI adds and removes setup codes as they see fit. I'm not sure any of us know exactly how they decide.
3. If you create a device upgrade that uses the same setup code as a bultin code, you can restore the builtin in one by removing the upgrade device, or just giving it a different number.
