I'm trying to upgrade my mom's tv to LCD which means the sound will need to be upgraded too . Anyway, I'm looking at the 2 above mentioned sound bars (or open to suggestions for others that have discretes) and would need discrete codes for Power on/off and for the inputs.
I have to create a bulletproof system for her without going to a full multi speaker system.
What is an ICT file? I opened the LG file using Word and was able to read it. I did not see any discrete codes (power on, power off, input, etc.). Does this mean there aren't any discretes or this is the straight code from their remote?
Also, I found out that the LG TV can not be set to always output PCM. Therefore the VSB200 is now out of the equation. The Vizio VHT215 will handle Dolby, etc and has Optical in so I'm now looking at it.
An ICT file is an IRScope file. IRScope is a cool piece of JP1 software that can be used with or without an IR Widget. Download the software and you'll not only see the discretes, you can actually see images of the timed signal.
I got my box yesterday and experienced and setup including the Media Center and everything worked incredible... Observed some programs..I powered the unit down and today I can't get any sound to push through to my Vizio sound bar. Can anyone help me with this. http://www.bestsellingreviews.com/Electronic/Sound-Bar/
