challenger/daewoo home cinema help needed
Hi all, new in JP1 forum need help, I´m not JP1 user (trying to learn about JP1 now).
I have programming skills, I use Microchip PIC microcontrollers and try to make an iR remote, the device I want to use is an Challenger HT-8230 home cinema, because don´t got the original remote.
Since the device it´s an challenger (generic brand) I saw them in other site like a Daewoo HC-4150 (the mainboard model but no diferences between them) and his remote control are a AM43D model.
But not know what protocol uses and the data (binary address & command) needed to send.
Where i can find these codes? maybe an related protocol who work? Can you suggest me an way to try to make him work? or where to search?
Many tanks for all.

I am unable to find a direct match for your "Challenger HT-8230" when I input the information in the Logitech Harmony Database, I get the following options: Onkyo HT-S8230, Onkyo HT-R8230, and Onkyo HTP-8230.nosferatuspacho wrote:Hi all, new in JP1 forum need help, I'm not JP1 user (trying to learn about JP1 now).

done !!!! grateful...
Works,
I got the sevice manual for this device, really not for challenger-8320 but for daewoo-ht4150 that has hc41xx and 42xx series and mainly 4150 and 4130 are quite similar...
I research about nec1 protocol (simply nec no?) put into my "remote clonex" adrress 2 and command 16 and they power on the home cinema
My remote control =PIC 16f88 for signal + 16f628 for carrier(yea, I´m lazy for not use an 555) now power/toggle the HT...
I´m really grateful, eferz you are my hero, I´d spend at least 4 weeks searching for information about this control and finally you share to me.
I have a debt to you, which is in my hands Just ask

Did you need me to catalog the rest of the available IR commands for the Daewoo HC-4130?

Re: done !!!! grateful...
There are many variants of NEC and we have given them all different names here in the JP1 world.nosferatuspacho wrote:I research about nec1 protocol (simply nec no?)
NEC1 is the more traditional NEC format, where the data stream gets sent once, then a stream with no data gets sent for the repeating portion.
NEC2 has the data stream repeat when the button's held.
We also have NECx1 and NECx2 where there's a slight change in one of the timing pairs.

Okay, I've recorded all the commands using IrScope and have uploaded the respective ICT file.nosferatuspacho wrote:Yes, that's great, I've send some commands and got many keys working but have others missing.
I hope you can catalog all the rest keys (like enter, eq, surround)
Tanks again.

Do you have the service manual in PDF format? If so, would you be willing to share it, just in case it's useful to anyone else?
Here's an upgrade file based on eferz's ICT file:

Sure, the link
http://www.daewoo.cl/sta-info/manuals/audio/HC-4230.pdf
Its 99,5% similar to Challenger HT-8230 I got.
I´d try to upload here but:
try in mediafire (maybe later the first link don´t work)...
