|
|
Hi,
I hope I'm posting this in the correct subforum. I just got a new panasonic plasma 50ST30 and panasonic blu-ray player. There are good existing upgrades I used to start with:
PLASMA UPGRADE
BLU-RAY UPGRADE
I learned all the keys for the blu-ray player and see in IR (learn tab) that the differences are in the subdevice number for some learned keys; all have the same device number. I'm a bit foggy this a.m., but recall most keys are subdevice 0, and a few are subdevice 1.
My question is how do I indicate the subdevice for a specific button in KM (9.14) for this protocol (panasonic MIX Combo) on the functions tab, I think it is? I might have just not spent enough time looking at the features of KM, so apologies if I overlooked something simple.
I also note that the remote for the TV has a couple of buttons not found in the PLASMA UPGRADE link above that I'd like to add. I prefer to do this in the KM upgrade, rather than as a keymove in IR. so this is why I'm trying to understand how to build this upgrade from scratch by learning all the keys from the remote.
Best and thanks,
jeff

From the Protocol Help sheet for Panasonic MIX Combo:
Quote: | Enter your device and sub-device codes in the "device code" cells on the Setup sheet, then
when you enter your function codes, in the byte2 column, enter a number (1 thru 5) to
select a device code, followed by a space, then another number (2 thru 6) to select a
sub-device code. |
I haven't used this file.
Notes on the Setup sheet indicate you may need to paste a protocol in IR.
Whether you really have to use MIX Combo, I'm not sure.
Regardless, make sure you select OBC not EFC, and if a code is for 128.9, then you will enter 1 4, and if it's 128.4 you will enter 1 3
You can actually see the subdevices listed on the Functions sheet Notes.
If you then want to make keymoves to device other than TV, you can do that on the Keymove sheet and don't forget to bring it into IR. Though recheck it works. At some point IR didn't like those keymoves. _________________ Liz

Hi Liz,
I figured I just didn't look hard enough at it. You've pointed me in the right direction, so I should have good upgrades for the player and TV really soon.
Best,

Thanks Jeff. Would you please update your upload to include the appropriate KM or RM icon? |

Hi mdavej,
Sorry for that. I've updated the file type icon.
Greg was right that RM handled the protocol very easily.
Best,
