Sorry.
It's just a report for information.
I'll be more specific next time. |

I have tried that.
Anyway, I tried again with a strange result. "JP1 Serial..." can be selected and the COM port number as well but it stuck at a warning about "Authorization..." or something. It's one time thing that can't be repeated again. Running IR in compatibility modes didn't help either.
It took me hours and a couple of DIY interfaces to figure it out that the interfaces has been fine since the first one. So I think sharing the information will save time and frustration for others who build this JP1 serial interface. Eventhough it was marked "obsolete" in the File Section, it's still doing the job. |

Forgive me, but are you saying that you got the serial interface to work or not? And if you did get it to work, after it was originally grayed out, what did you do?
I don't think we have too many users with Win7 machines that also have serial ports. _________________ Rob

The interface, as of Building a JP1 Serial Interface (obsolete) - http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=4557, works only on XP not on W7.
On W7, after the greyed out I tried but still didn't work:
- ir.exe as administrator
- ir.exe in compatibility modes
On the other hand, JP1.2/1.3 serial interface works fine on W7. |
