I have a URC10820N and I am trying to add a second Tivo unit. The codes that I used for remote address 2 in my previous URC10820B00 remote are not accepted by the URC10820N.
There is also no code listed for my SONY BD player. After reading the excellent instructions posted at JP1, I purchased a JP1 cable and successfully used IR and RM to create a new device code for the SONY player. It works perfectly. I was thrilled!
But, now I've hit a snag. After learning the buttons from my second TiVo unit original remote, IR reports that the protocol is "Tivo unit=2". But when I try to use RM, this protocol is not in the protocol drop down list. So, I don't know how to proceed. Can anyone please help?
Thanks,
Mike
Missing RM and KM protocol: "Tivo unit=2"

Good to hear that you got the Blu Ray working. I do think you'll find that code Video 1516 would also work well, but without some of the discretes functions (On/Off or Eject) that are in the upgrades here.
For the Tivo, try using Tivo (official) and set the unit number to 2. You can leave the device and subdevice blank or enter in 133 and 48. better yet, there's lots of upgrades in the file section under PVR\Tivo, and if you load one of those, everything except the unit number should be already entered correctly.
If unit 2 doesn't work, try setting the unit number to 1.

Re: Missing RM and KM protocol
3FG has provided you with the answer above, but to cut to the chase:mikeybaby wrote:IR reports that the protocol is "Tivo unit=2". But when I try to use RM, this protocol is not in the protocol drop down list.
"Tivo unit=2" is not a protocol.
The protocol you need to select is "Tivo" and then
on the General tab in RM, you assign unit=2 in the appropriate field.
Good luck.

Wow! Thanks for the lightning fast responses, Capn Trips and 3FG.
I am happy to say that with your help I now have a URC10820N remote that has new codes for two TiVo devices , one with unit address 1 and the other with unit address 2.
This is FUN!!!
Thank you so much for your help,
Mike
