DecodeIR version 2.38

Post by mathdon »

I have made a second revision of John Fine's DecodeIR.dll, with his permission, and have posted it as DecodeIR.dll Version 2.38. It corrects a few long-standing bugs that have prevented recognition of certain protocols. It reduces the chances of getting spurious decodes, or multiple decodes for protocols in which not all frames are identical. When used with IRScope and similar software that process a "live" IR signal, it identifies and counts signal repeats that are indicated by simplified frames that carry no data and it reports them as, for example, "3 ditto frames".

I have also posted the source file here.

I went ahead and made the slight changes needed to build under Linux, which includes a Makefile. This was very easy to do, as I'd already documented the changes required for an earlier version.

Get the binaries or the source.

I'd like to request that this be the starting point for any further enhancements to DecodeIR, so it doesn't have to be ported again.
