Help Requested using URC-7781 to control an LG OLED TV

Post by im2020 »

I feel like a newbie. I was quite proficient 5 years ago using RM to tailor my URC-7781 to control a Panasonic TV. I've now upgraded the TV to an LG OLED and have forgotten how to edit my RC.

I've downloaded and installed all the latest RM files and updated my Java. I've located the best Startup Code for the new TV (0178) and put it into the URC. Most of the keys work the same way as the original LG remote but I need to add/change quite a few.

I've downloaded the URC-7781 contents into RMIR and I've found and opened in RM what looks like a suitable RMDU device upgrade (LG OLED55E6P) but I'm stuck on how to apply it.

Any advice gratefully accepted.

In RMIR, go to the Devices tab, click New, then open your RMDU upgrade file, then OK to save, pick the desired device button, then upload.

I am concerned about the way you put this. In the distant past there were a lot of files that needed to be downloaded separately, but now everything is in a single zip file. The latest RMIR version is v.3.1.5 and the Announcement thread with full information and instructions is here. Please make sure that is what you are using.
