Device code for Directv HR21 Upgrade Needed for RS 15-1995

Post by vgonzalez »

Team,

Does any one have a device code for a Directv HR21 which has the p8/740 protocol code?

I believe we call that the DirecTV protocol here. Here's a link to the file which you're looking for (https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=4687)
Remotes; JP1.2: Comcast URC-1067, JP1.3: Insignia NS-RC02U-10A, JP1.4 OARI06G, JP2.1: Cox URC-8820-MOTO (still trying to figure out how to make them self-aware.)

The OP was asking for protocol executor code for a remote which uses the 740 microprocessor. The upgrade you linked doesn't have, nor does protocols.ini, 740 code for the DirecTV IR protocol.

It is very unlikely that anyone will create 740 support. There can't be many users left.

Ah, okay. That makes much more sense. Thanks for the clarification.

I just checked the RemoteChart.xls and didn't realize how many processors UEI used in their various remotes; let alone the variety of remotes. I saw that this processor was included in the following remotes; 15-1934, 15-1935, 15-1995, Maestro II, URC-5550 (8550), URC-8080, URC-8090, URC-8200, URC-8550, URC-8600, URC-8780 (8781/8782), URC-8800, and URC-9800. Unfortunately, the only model addressed in the Lookup Tool is the 15-1994. And, it already has the DirecTV protocol in the following setup codes; 1302, 2019, 1377, 1378, 1388, 1389, 1501, and 0693. Very interesting.

Huh? The 15-1994 has a S3C80 processor, as indicated by the Lookup Tool, the 15-1994 RDF file(s), and the RemoteChart.

Doh. Brainfarting again. I somehow just pattern searched 15-199x and assumed it was 4 where it was supposed to be 5 which is not referenced. :(

I haven't posted here in quite some time, but I've written the extenders for the p8/740 remotes and a few executors as well. I'm using 8800 remotes and I have a DirecTV DVR. If there are people who would use a DirecTV executor for the p8/740 remotes, I could be persuaded to write one (assuming there's nothing horribly complicated about the DirecTV protocol). Reply if you're interested.

Although I don't have a remote with that processor, it would be great if the compatibility of the existing executors are increased.
