I have the JP1.x to JP1 adapter bought from Diygadget connected via my JP1.2 cable to pc serial connector.
Reading forum posts I see that I require jp12serial.dll bundled in jp12serial016.zip. This is from 2010. I have the latest Rmir installed do I still have swap the dlls in order for my remote to be found or is there another problem?
Tested it with jp1xtest and remote was found see
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=14182
With rmir however remote is not found
All above was carried out without replacing the dll

What version of RMIR exactly?

Can you post a link to the JP1.2 cable you have? If you built it, can you post a link to the schematic?

My only guess at this point is maybe the JP1 adapter is designed for JP1.2/3 and not JP1.1/2. Need to figure out which version of JP1.2 you actually have.

Do you have a JP1.3 cable you could try?

I'm not convinced that jp1xtest found a remote. Your PNG file doesn't show a signature, and the 2048 EEPROM size is the default value. I suspect that jp1xtest has only actually found the adapter. Are you sure it isn't rotated 180 degrees on the remotes 6 pin connector?

Thanx for reply
The cable works fine with j1.3 remotes which I have rcrp05br and Atlas 1056b01
The adapter is installed as per instructions from DYIGADGET.
One question regarding 8910b02 --I assumed pin #1 is the pin next to label JP1 on pcb board--looking at remote from rear side with 6 pin connector below battery compartment I assumed pin#1 to be the right top pin. Am I correct?

the rmir version is 2.03 build 14
Can I rotate the adapter 180 degrees without doing damage--I am pretty sure that I assembled it as per DYIGADGET's instructions but one never knows...?

I don't own a 8910, but at least some JP1 remotes have white outline around the 6 pins and one corner of the white outline is beveled. The unusual corner is adjacent to pin 1. I don't know if an incorrect rotation would cause damage or not.

Also, it occurs to me that you might be using JP1xtest with a very old version of JP12Serial. Support for the adapter was added in version 0.15. Perhaps using an older version may provide an invalid response.

I am using the file called testgroup.zip downloaded from forum file area --when I run the .bat file I get version 0.00---is there another file somewhere?

I'm referring to JP12Serial.dll. JP1xtest was written and distributed before the JP1 adapter was developed. So in the folder containing jp1xtest replace the old JP12Serial.dll with one copied from the Windows-x86 subfolder in your RMIR folder.
