hi im setting up my htpc ive ordered a jp1.x cable and i was wondering can i use my logitech ex110 ir reciever to control the htpc or do i have to go out and buy the microsoft mce remote, thanks |

I looked up the EX110 and it seems to be RF based device, not IR, in which case it won't received signals from the remote. |

I looked up the EX110 and it seems to be RF based device | The EX110 is indeed an RF device. The receiver is listed as being a "Compact USB - PS/2 RF receiver" under Specifications. An IR remote isn't going to help. _________________ Mark |

can you recomend a ir keyboard and mouse combo. because i dont really want a bunch of wireless adapters everywhere
i can return my old keyboard and mouse

Microsoft makes a keyboard that will work with the ir receiver that comes with the remote. It doesn't come with an ir receiver of its own so you still have to purchase the remote as well (or you can get this combo package).
I can't recommend nor not recommend it, since I've never used it, but just note that ir requires line of sight and might not be as reliable as an RF keyboard and mouse. |
