Seems to be working, this time!

The HT keys now sets the keys as desired, and it launches the LKP the way it is intended...

I'll do more testing... do you think that this correction may spoil something else?

One curiosity... when I change the suggested location, I see also the very first two location in the RAW buffer have changed... is it normal? Sorry... I don't understand this hex programming stuff

this HT mode is proving to be a pain in the neck...

In my HT I have assigned all but the volume keyset to the DVD player... this includes the menu keys...

Well, after the HT key macro execution, the OK key doesn't work at all!

All other keys in the Menu Key Set are correctly sending commands to the DVD, but the OK key sends NO code at all (IR segments don't flash).

If I manually select the DVD device, the OK key works fine...

Any idea?

The first two bytes of the RAW buffer is a checksum performend on the entire EEPROM, so when one byte changes the checksum will change.

It's computed based on the contents of the EEPROM so that the remote can tell if the EEPROM has been corrupted.

Thanks for the explanation about the first two bytes of the RAW buffer... I guessed they were some kind of checksum, or they had no reason to change, but nice to have your confirmation...

About the OK Key in HT Mode... here is my latest IR file:

Should I program this Global Power OFF in an unused Device mode, and assign the O_ keys to that device, to use the command?

Well.....

This one is odd, and one that I wouldn't have expected.

The remap table in the remote has the OK button remapped to Surround for the HT screen, so what's happening is that the OK button is being turned into the Surround button, which of course has nothing on it, so the remote doesn't do anything about it.

The OK button for DVD is not remapped, which is why it works just fine.


Put a keymove on Surround ($67) in DVD mode to do what you want and this should solve the problem.

BTW, that's the ONLY key that is remapped for the HT screen, AND you would see this same behavior in the unextended remote in HT mode.

Should not be a problem. I have an "Everything off" macro assigned to pwoer in my 9960 and it works fine. Remember, this special HT handling stuff is really only there to deal with the HT screen and animation. The rest of everthing else that goes on in the remote is handled by the device tables that are built in the extender.


My Power off remote looks like this:
