30333033 Identifying JP1.3 Atlas PVR

If you have a new remote that isn't recognized by RMIR, post the details here so we can help create a new RDF for it. Or, if there is an issue with an existing RDF or map, this is the place.

I still believe that your are having a problem with the filenames of your rdfs. This is not your fault, it was identified recently in another thread. Putting together all of the various advice from above (hopefully in a coherent manner):

You likely have some old Atlas 5-device rdfs in your rdf folder that are incorrectly named - not by you, but as saved in the current rdf.zip file.

As I suggested previously:

DELETE every rdf file you have that has the suspect signatures (30333033 and 30003000).

Then add ONLY the two rdf files files that are linked in this thread a few posts above to your rdf folder. They have been properly named and should display properly in your RM dropdown list.

On another point, in THIS POST you have the same inventory (one learning JP1.3 Atlas 5-Device (Day) + several others) that you were offering for sale. Are you now NOT offering the JP 1.3, but only the others? I really would prefer to buy the JP 1.3, if possible.

I looked at your filenames and they are indeed incorrect. They have underscores(_) in place of spaces. Look at the 30003000 and the 30333033 filenames and compare it with the 10251025 filename.

Maybe your browser added those underscores when you downloaded?

You should also specify a separate RDF directory to make things clearer.

End of this story. Everything works!
The remotes labelled JP1 are indeed JP1.2, as are the ones labelled JP1.2. Same upgrades worked fine on both types. Used the 10251025 rdf.
The JP1.3 I have responds to rdf 30003000. Can't be sure about the 2 I mailed today.
Thanks to all, especially binky123.

So, I still have about 10 of the JP1.2 types (6 are brand new , 4 are learning)

Good to see you straightened things out. Your Vizio Remote rdf also has an underscore in place of a space as well. You may want to re-download the individual Atlas-5 remote RDFs as well.

Additional discovery on these. They WILL execute macros on the device keys...

Getting a little further into this. I can not disable the Channel Lock or Volume Lock(VPT). I try the disable codes in the instruction manual, ststus shows "off" but the functions are still active. Further, doing a 981 reset restores the unit to the cable co's default configuration, not a "cleared" state. Anyone with these remotes, any comment or suggestion.
Also, for some unknown reason, using the factory installed device code 0864 (Sony VCR/DVD) the remote hangs with the DVD device button permanently lit.

Using an 0864 upgrade from the file section works. However, I can not get any (built in, modified from 8910, or file section) 0614 replaytv upgrade to work. There is no response from any button, won't take advanced codes or learn signals, hangs the remote when some buttons are pushed.

Getting back to the topic (or third variation on it!), remote is acting like memory is full, although indicators at the bottom of IR say not. With a clean (no upgrade loaded) remote, I can key in ReplayTV 0614 device code and it works. With my upgrade for the TV, Cable DVR, and DVD, I can't do anything that works on the AUX key. Can someone (Binky123) who has had the JP1.2 version apart verify the actual EEPROM size, and determine whether the IR readout is correct?

The IR memory display for the 1025 JP1.2 Atlas 5 remote seems to be correct. You'll have to load up your .IR file for somebody to see what's going on.

If I'm not mistaken these JP 1.x remotes HAVE no separate EEPROM, but a new flash processor with a writable portion of the ROM and a non-writable portion. Can someone confirm or refute (and correct) my statement?

That is correct. There is a portion of the flash memory that is set aside as a fake "EEPROM".

Here are some files:
This is the one that works. Device code 0614 is keyed into a 981 reset remote:
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=4693
My base upgrade file. Everything works but replay
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=4692
The replay rmdu I am attempting to use:
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=4691

If this isn't confusing enough or enough info. I have more non working combinations!
