I did select the "Set RDF path" option, but it already was pointing to the right folder, but even if I had missed that step, I should still have been able to download, IR just won't have known what RDF to use.e34m5 wrote:Another stupid question...did you set the RDF path after openieng the Beta?

Are you saying that you found the problem and fixed it? If so, I will try downloading the latest version when I get home and I'll give it a whirl.e34m5 wrote:Ok then..is it working now...I'm not sure if you mentioned if it was or not..

The notes appear to be working right. What be a really nice UI feature would be to have the note show as a ToolTip when the user hovers the mouse over the corresponding row on the main Key Moves tab.
I think it would also be nice if you read the values of the new [Extender] section of the RDF (added for ECC) to determine which special protocols are available (if any). Then, add them to the list of devices in the Key Move dialog. The Special Protocol button should then only become enabled IF one of the special protocols is selected.

I just downloaded "IRBETA v4.0.3 3/15/2003 4:02PM" and it still can't find the drivers. Just for yucks, I unzipped it into the same directory as IR 4.02 and got the same results.
Just FYI, this computer is an old 300 mHz Pentium II running Win98SE.

Mike/Rob - I really am at a loss with the drivers..I have tried the Beta on several machines and as you can see many others are also running it...I can't imagine that there is anything different in the Beta in this regards. The issues that Mike mentioned earlier are outside the scope of what I was doing...however I'll give those a shot as soon as we are finished with this stuff.
Also notice that the keymove dialog let's you enter a setup code even though it may not be actually in your file. As a minimum the Spec Prot is not available unless you enter one of the 3 valid codes (1800, 1106, 1103 - Pause and Multiplexer were left out based on feedback).
I agree with you on this..I also wondered why the special protocols did not automatically show up in the "Add" dialog. After we finish with this I can investigate changing that behavior.
Other than these items what else do I need to look at...
I toyed with that idea..my biggest concern is that lesser experienced users of Windows may not catch that. In other apps I have done we discovered that users simply missed the fly over tool tip. I would need to create a separate dialog to display the notes but that is not a big deal. I will defer to the majority on this one.Mark wrote:The notes appear to be working right. The list of available protocols in the "Add" dialog is dependent on the keymoves you have created. If you do not have any keymoves defined notice that the list in the keymove dialog just shows "0000". Add a keymove and then reopen the "Add", you now will see at the bottom of the list the device and setup code associated with that keymove you created earlier.Mark wrote:I think it would also be nice if you read the values of the new [Extender] section of the RDF (added for ECC) to determine which special protocols are available (if any).
