You REALLY do believe in making life complicated. All I wanted you to say was:

==========================
Please map:

Mosaic to PPV button
Options to Aspect button
Subtitle to PIP+ button
Audio to PIP- button
Parental to M button
==========================

So much easier :D

Right, done those except the Parental to M. I'm afraid Sling have disabled that button on this image. Can you pick another one ?

Fixed the Last/Back button. I actually had a function Skip Back defined and I had used that.

As for the others, I have already mapped Day+/- to the correct buttons. Do they not work ?

And I told you already you cannot have the Volume controls as the Slingplayer 'hijacks' them for it's own Volume control. That is how Sling have designed it.

So I just need your decision on the Parental to M ?

Ok, about the parental key and the "M" key:
other key can be the key below "9". Or is it disabled also?
If this is disabled, then the "info" key

Regarding the day +/-, these keys are ok.

Thanks

Yes that button is disabled as well. So Parental is now on the Info button.

Hi all,

Regarding the previous posts, I'm also interested in the RCU Mauricio Ramírez asked for.

The files .bin you've generated are perfectly valid, except for one new key which has been added to a new RCU model. This key launches Settings menu.

Is there anyway you could help me with this? I can buy the Logitech model Alan suggested some months ago, but currently I only have an IR trans which generates .rem files.

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards

OK, there is some confusion here. There are 2 aspects to this thread:

1. To produce a working BIN file for an unspecified (as far as I can see) Technicolour STB. This was accomplished and it was published at https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=12670. This uses the default remote image.

2. Mauricio then asked if we could link that BIN file to a more realsitic remote image and we eventually managed that using a Synergy image. But it was never officialy released and was just a one-off.

But the important thing is that NOTHING we did was relevant to the Technicolor RCU, yet you are asking for changes to the RCU. So you need to be more specific about what you want:

1. Are we still talking about the unnamed Technicolor STB ? If not then this is the wrong place to be discussing this, so start a new thread with your STB make and model.

2. If we are talking about the same test STB, then

a. what is the model number now ?
b. Have you checked the official release version of the BIN file to see if any of the Custom buttons carry out the new Settings function ?
c. Do you still want to map it to the Synergy image ? (which will not have a Settings button)

Over to you.

Hi Alan,

Thanks for your quick response. I'm talking about the same unnamed Technicolor STB. The only difference is that there's a new RCU version for that STB, with new keys (in fact, not only Settings, but some more).

I've checked the Synergy image but none of its Custom buttons seems to work as Settings. Using the Synergy image would be perfect for me. Currently there are some free keys, such as red or green buttons.

The following codes make reference to Settings key in the new RCU model I have (the rest of keys remains the same):

RC-5 Key code (Hex) -> 37
RC-5 Bitstream X=Control bit DeviceID=00001 -> 11X00001110111

I'm not sure if this is helpful, sorry!

Hove I have answered all your questions. Thanks!

yes, that all makes perfect sense.

OK, as before a 2-stage process, first identify the codes, second map them to the Synergy remote. Unfortunately I cannot find a sequence that corresponds to Hex37 so we will have to do it the longer way.

https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=13001 has 4 files (I don't know which Slingbox you have so had to include both PL & RV files). C2010 is the basic box as we had before, just to make sure we are both working from the same baseline. So please install that and confirm it is OK as far as it goes. C2011 is a 'dummy' remote. The power button should wotk correctly during the setup, but the remaining buttons send codes that aren't presently used by the C2010. So install that and then tap EVERY button, including the 15 Custom Buttons that you get by right-clicking on the image and selecting Custom, and tell me which one does the Setting function (and any other new function you find).

Not sure if you are used to installing Custom Remotes but the instructions are at http://placeshiftingenthusiasts.com/how ... -slingbox/

Thank you very much! These are the results:

C2011_PL.bin:
- Digit 4: launches Settings module.
- Digit 7: launches Search module.
- Digit 0: launches Favourite list selection.

C2010_PL.bin:
- Correctly working.

I've been analyzing the Synergy image and there are some repeated keys (as there are in the original RCU). Those are:
- Pip+ and Blue button: Subtitles selection.
- Pip- and Yellow button: Audio selection.

So available keys could be:
- Pip+ / Pip-.
- Green/Red buttons.

Mapping digits 4 (Settings), 7 (Search) and 0 (Favourites) to any of those Synergy keys would be great. For example:
- Green: Settings.
- Red: Search.
- Pip+: Favourites.

Moreover, I've also checked that Last button (Synergy) does OK function and Replay does Back function. Could the following be possible?:
- Last button (Synergy): Back function.
RC-5 Key code (Hex) -> 1c
RC-5 Bitstream X=Control bit DeviceID=00001 -> 11X00001011100

- Replay (Synergy): Replay function.
RC-5 Key code (Hex) -> 27
RC-5 Bitstream X=Control bit DeviceID=00001 -> 11X00001100111

Please tell me if I'm asking for too much! And thank you so much for your help :)

Not too much at all, makes a nice change to get decent feedback that is understandable :D

OK, I am struggling somewhat as I can't get the Synergy image to display on mine, it keeps coming up with the default image, not sure why. Anyway I think I have done the Settings/Favourite/Search mapping OK ?

I did notice that the replay code was wrong so have reset that, so hopefully that works but without seeing the image I am struggling wioth the Back/Last mismatch.

https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=13001 now has an updated C2010 and also a C1115 that should show the Synergy image.

How are we doing ?

Hi Alan,

Although the new keys have been mapped, these are the problems I notice with the Synergy image (C1115), compared to previous C1115_PL.bin version:

- Yellow button: launches Search module -> it used to launch Audio.
- Blue button: launches Settings module -> it used to launch Subtitles.
- Red button : no function mapped. Search function would be great.
- Green button: no function mapped. Settings function would be great.
- Pip+: launches Favourite list selection (this is OK).
- Pip-: launches Audio selection (this could be OK too).
- Last button: no function mapped -> it used to work as Ok. Back function would be great.
- Replay button: launches Back function, as it did with previous version. Replay function would be great.

Hope this helps and thanks again!

That's odd, as all I did was map the Search & Settings to the Red & Green. We must be working from different files, I used the C1115 from https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=12734

Which one are you using ?

Hi Alan,

I've used https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=13001 and now it works as it did before I requested the new keys, that is:
- Green and Red buttons carry out no function.
- Pip+ and Pip- launch Subtitles and Audio, respectively.
