using IR TRANS to get IR codes for binary files creation

Hi

I need to create a binary file with the IR codes of my Remote control.
I have an IR trans device which learn the IR signals of my remote control and generates a .rem file with the following sintax
Do you know if exists some method to convert the IR trans files to .bin?

The Irtrans format is neither documented, nor very hard to figure out -- at least in "most" cases. It is almost surely not intended to be read by humans, just programs.

Anyhow, there are 38 different timing patterns for a number of signals that is just slightly larger than 38. So it is almost certainly very bad learns.

Looking at

this means that a RC5 signal is identified, I think a line like

means that the timing pattern 5 applies, i.e. it is RC5, and the data is the sequence should be interpreted as device- and command numbers in MSB order. I can check exactly if desired.

The other signals can be interpreted similarly, no RC5 but raw timing patterns.
Signals like

means the timing pattern 2 is used, the digits in the D-string means index into the timing pattern, which forms an array of on/off duration.

But as I said, the learns appear so crappy, that it is probably not a good idea to try to decode it.

There is a reason why I did not impllement IrTrans import in IrScrutinizer...

We can never say 100% but I would say 95%

What you need to do is install the device onto the Harmony Remote (yes, it has a learn function) using my Harmony Account. I will PM you the logon details. I can then install it on my Harmony and use that to analyse the codes.

The reason I specified the 659/650/One is that they utilise the standalone Logitech software. Some other Harmony remotes use a web-based setup that I cannot use on my remotes. I think the 650 is the cheapest, although you can always re-sell it on E-Bay afterwards.

Another cheaper potential way: If your OEM remote has a Setup button, there's a good chance it is a UEI remote. In that case, you may be able to use the 990 Blink back Command to get the setup code used for your STB. If we have that code, we can make a bin file.

There are a huge number of on/off pairs here. Kind of reminds me of that Humax Cable quad-phase that stumped all of us, for months or was it years, until 3FG rode to the rescue.

With all this, do these learned commands all work?

It seems strange to me, that the strings that are represented in binary, have key recognizable msb values, while the other keys have that mishmash of timings. Seems to me that we might be seeing a combination set of learns here. That's why I really want to know if all these learned commands work.

The CCF form looks "corny", but the decodes are, with some exceptions, pretty fine: all RC5 with device = 1. The function numbers (OBC) are all unique. Only a few signals not decoded.

The Slingboxonians should be able to help you from this point.

So I guess there will be an IrTrans importer in the upcoming IrScrutiniter 1.1.1 after all...

Thanks for that. I'm temporarily away from my laptop so can do the BIN File on Thursday when I get back. Amazingly, of the over 700 ones I have already built none of them use RC5 1:0 so I cannot even offer a temporary solution.
