IR 8.00 Release Candidate 3 posted
Everything's fixed. Here is
Release Candidate 3, identifiable as IR 8.00 Build 13. Some specific points from comments:
Rob, you've got editing back on the Protocol Information panel.
Mdavej, in the Code Selector the Assign button, and assigning by double click, are disabled if you move away from the General tab. I also took the opportunity of linking Code Selector to tab pages to add the following refinement. If you go to the Devices tab and add or delete a device whose type is that displayed in the Code Selector, then when you leave the Devices tab the list in the Upgrade panel of Code Selector is automatically updated.
Liz, there is now an Open KM button. This takes data from the Registry entries that Mike pointed out. If the KM registry key doesn't exist (KM has never been used) then the button is disabled. Otherwise it opens the version of KM that was last used. To change the version opened by the button, just open the new version from outside IR.
Liz again, I've sorted your issue about inappropriate changes of signature in the Raw Data tab. Please check this this is now OK even when you do a reset before the upload.
Mdavej again, your issue about RDF file handling is genuinely a deliberate "feature" rather than a bug. The point about hyphens and underscores is entirely irrelevent, as they are ignored by IR. It is only RM that makes use of them to be able to show different images for each of the remotes that use a common RDF. The reason for the "feature" is so that "normal" users, i.e. not developers and experimenters, always get their (one) remote opening with the same RDF even when there is more than one matching RDF. But for us "abnormal" users I've put an Advanced option to turn this "feature" off. If you select "Always Allow RDF Selection" then it will always offer the full list of matching RDFs when you open a file. BTW I have no idea why your fix of using an "alternative hyphen" worked.
Damir, I've allowed more space for the items you marked. Please say whether you now get everything displayed in full.
We're getting there - slowly!
Edit: You will see that I've also changed the toolbar button style to the more modern "flat" style. I think this looks better. What do others think? I've also changed the arrows on the Upload/Download buttons from red (suggests danger) to green (suggests all OK). I can then use red for the unsafe versions later on.
