So I'm lucky to get my money back without a dispute. Still no response to my e-mails. I went ahead and built my own JP1 cable, and I would advise anyone waiting for DIYGadget to do the same, or buy one from another supplier. The funds have been returned to your account.

We are now offering USB version of JP1.2/1.3 cable. Our USB version has a low profile header, it fits small openings (such as URC-7555, RS 15-134 and RS 15-135 etc, please check the back of your remote) so no extra adapter is needed.

Please check it out on www.diygadget.com
Thanks!

prelude, I've just resurected my old JP1.x cable that I bought from Rob. I think that we determined it was one of yours. When it failed last year I wasn't sure if it was the USB Adapter or the cable. I shortened my cable past a suspicious spot where the ribbon had a deep crease, but that didn't help.
I haven't had very good luck with other cables. So I went out and purchased a new USB adaptor yesterday(retail $39
) but it got me up and running.

  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It turned out that the problem was in the USB adapter. I'm now running my cable that has 20,000+ upload/downloads on it, works well with JP1.1 JP1.2 and JP1.3, but I'm wondering if there is an adapter of some kind, or a new end for the cable that I could add WITHOUT SOLDERING that might allow me to work with those RCA remotes as well?
I can always cut out the case on my own remotes, but I've been recommending these remotes to other people and I wouldn't want to go around dremmeling their cases.......

Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.
Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

Oh that's the 9.99 socket adapter. With all the talk about opening the relief and super gluing the case I didn't realize there was a fix for this. Cool!

I JUST received the 'JP1.2/1.3 (FLASH) USB Cable for Universal Remotesfrom diygadget.
This cable broke immediately. There is no strain relief between the cable and the jack that connects to the remote. I tried to remove the cable from the remote (used hardly any force) and the wires stripped out of the jack. I have no idea how to fix since I dont know which wires go to which hole.
Can you replace the cable or at least tell me which wires go where so I can repair this item I just bought myself.
