OK... copying Rob's device upgrade, I see that he did define the volume and mute keys.. but I guess my problem then is that I can't get Devices4 to work!!!

Audio/1308 is not in devices4, but if you're using an upgrade file that shouldn't matter. I'm confused by what you're trying to accomplish... :?

I'm trying to get my Replay 5K remote to control the volume of my stereo (Audio 1308) instead of TV.

I am not using an upgrade file for 1308 on my RS2117, so how do I determine what the EFC codes for volume and mute for Audio 1308 are? Without knowing those, is it possible to create a device upgrade for the Replay remote???

You still need to be more specific. What do you want the TV-POWER button to do? If you want it to control the power of your stereo, then this is a simple task, but if you want it to control the TV's power, then you will need to use the device combiner, which of course is what this thread is all about, so read the earlier posts for more info.

If you still have the stereo's remote, you would simply learn the buttons to see what the code info is, but you know that, so I'm guessing you no longer have the stereo remote.

Audio/1308 uses the Panasonic Combo protocol, wher the main device code is 160. The power and volume buttons all use a sub-device code of ZERO, and the OBCs/EFCs are:

OBC EFC Function
032 213 Vol+
033 217 Vol-
050 151 Mute
061 024 Power

Thanks Rob...

I don't really care about the POWER... to make it easy, I would just have it power on / off the receiver.

I've tried for 30 mins now to create the device code based on the info you just gave me and still no luck. No idea what I'm doing wrong here.

I actually do have the old remote... just thought there was another way to get the codes that I was missing. I have no doubt your EFCs are correct... I'm just doing something else wrong with the Keymaster...

This is what i came up with, how does it compare to what you got...

Upgrade Code 0 = 07 D0 (TV/2000) keymap-master Device Upgrade (KM v8.24)
C9 00 51 FA BF FB FA FF FB 7B B3 43
End

This is what I was getting:
Upgrade Code 0 = 05 1C (TV/1308) Panasonic AMP Control (KM v8.24)
C9 00 51 FA BF FB FA FF FB 7B B3 43
End

But even your doesn't work for me. All I need to do is set the TV to 2000 (or 1308 in my case) right?

When I go to the devices tab in IR, the VOL and MUTE keys appear for the upgrade, but VOL+ and MUTE are not mapped and VOL- gets EFC of ***221 or 024

That's what you're seeing when you select the TV/1308 (or TV/2000) upgrade on the Devices tab? :?

Maybe you should upload your saved IR file to the diagnosis area and post a link to it.

Pete, your upgrade is the same as mine, you just used a different setup code, so you're not doing anything wrong in KM. IR has a hard time displaying upgrades correctly when they have so few buttons programmed, so it's OK to see the wrong hex codes assigned to the buttons, but you should still see the volume and power buttons assigned with something.

Like Mark said, post your IR file in the Diagnosis Area and one of us will take a look at it. (Please post a link to the file and please read the sticky about posting links if you haven't done it before).

So, what's the latest with DVA? My ReplayTV growth kinda stopped when they stopped supporting the 2000/3000 series. I never got into networked Replays, so I haven't even used DVA.

OK... let's see if I got this right...

Here's my link to the IR dump: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files ... Volume.txt

Definitely doesn't control the volume on anything for me right now.. and a re-checked my 2117 to make sure I am in fact using code 1308 for my amp.

Thanks again for taking a look at this for me!

The latest release (3.0) of DVArchive includes two hot new features. The first is a web-server interface... you can actually control your DVArchive and schedule shows to be recorded over the web now (which gives you real-time remote control over your ReplayTV units). DVA includes an interactive channel guide that helps make that possible.

But the new feature I love best is the ability to copy pictures from the web onto any photo partition on any Replay TV unit. So you can create a special folder in your Replay photo partition (I call mine 'weather'), set that partition to display as screen saver whenever you pause the TV, and then set DVA to copy updated weather maps, radar snap shots, and five day forecasts every 15 mins or so right off the web (you may have to hunt around various weather sites to find good urls). I include the local wind and marine foreceast so I can see if tomorrow will be a good sailing day by simply hitting pause anytime I'm watching TV.

Pretty useful stuff!

You have the TV button set to TV/2000 but there is no upgrade on the Devices tab. You need to copy the Device Upgrade Code from KM and paste it into IR's Devices tab after clicking the Add button.

When I go to the Devices tab, I do indeed see the TV 2000 setup and I copied it from KM like you said....

I even downloaded my dump directly from Yahoo to make sure I uploaded the correct one and I still see the upgrade on the devices tab. Maybe I need to use a new version of IR (I'm using 3.11)...

Nope.... scratch that... I've now upgraded to 5.09 and downloaded all the updated RDFs as well. Still no luck.

The remote still controls the Replay unit so this is no battery brain fart or something like that.

Why the heck would you not see the Device upgrade, Mark, when I clearly can? Do you see anything on the devices tab at all?

That's odd. I see NOTHING on Devices when I open your file. When I look at the Raw Data tab, I see similar upgrade code starting at address 0104, but that's not the start of the R5K's upgrade area (defined as $010..$3FC in the RDF).

Does IR's title bar show "ReplayAmplifierVolume.txt - ReplayTV 5000 remote" when you open your file?

You're not by any chance trying to upload the 2117's configuration file to the R5K, are you?
