Well something's off then, because a protocol upgrade was included in the bin, which isn't needed if it's standard NEC1.

Maybe I have a problem with my files. Can you try this :

1. Create an RMDU using NEC1 and Device code 172.

2. Export a BIN file

3. Import the file back in.

4. My Remotemaster is importing it as NECx2 and Device 172.172

Just me ?

Something's weird is going on here. Everytime I selected NEC1 in RM the Output tab would show a custom protocol. So, I closed RM and started RM 1.98 and verified that the problem did not exist there. Then I fired up RM 2.01 again and this time it didn't show a custom protocol, so I saved a bin file and checked it (using frhed) and it still includes a custom protocol. I then imported the bin file back into RM and sure enough, it shows the custom protocol too.

So, I closed RM again and fired up RM 1.98 once more, tried saving the bin file again and checked it using frhed and there's still a custom protocol there, even though it doesn't show one on the Output tab.

Hopefully Greg will jump in here and see if he can figure out what's going on.

Thanks Greg, that does seem to have fixed it. I have updated Alan's bin files here:
