Please read the README file properly and then come back to us.

Particularly the part that starts:

"If you have problems please do NOT just report back it 'doesn't work', that is totally useless for someone trying to understand what is going on. So please report the following:..."

Sorry, did the post on the go.

1. There was no error meesage after typing in the code

2. I gave the power button enough time. No reaction

3. Not a single button worked

4. The IR blaster works with another device.

5. I tried several positions, but no reaction

6. Sry, I have only Windows 7 which is not compatible with betaremotes

Don't go to betaremotes, go the proper one now

I know that works with WIN7 as I have used it myself.

Unfortunately, remote.slingbox.com doesn't work. The slingbox doesn't recognize the signals of my remote.
My idea is now to buy an IR receiver to get the signals to my PC. Would you recommend this technique to me? Or is it just too compley for a beginner?

The upgrade that I created was based on a guess that this device uses the NEC1 protocol with a device code of 0, so if it doesn't work it probably just means that the guess was wrong.

Could you get a file from the manufacturer for the SceneGate 8000 so I have something to compare the SceneGate 8500 file to?
