|
|
There are some black Atlas OCAP remotes with backlighting and learning available on Ebay. The guy put 21 up and may have more.
EBAY ID: Fellowship_night_elf_hunter
Item Names: 5- Device Remote Control with Learning and lighted keys
(There was no mention of Atlas, OCAP, or 1056 in the names.) |

Nice find. From the pics that definitely looks like a 1056 OCAP. We'll have to wait for someone to get one and check the sig but I'd bet it will be 3033. He does have a a few of them up for sale currently and 12$ shipped isn't bad for these. I'm sure he's gonna sell a few of those to members here. |

You will want to be a little cautious. The guy's feedback is 0....
But right, it is a great buy, especially the way he has them advertised. |

I talked to the guy, and he seems legit.
I will have more to say in a few days once I get one of the remotes. |

I was the other bidder of 3. I have a few friends I want to bring into the JP1 fold. |

I am curious about whether these are Sunflower Broadband remotes.
I say that because I spoke with a rep from them on Thursday, and she was going to be sending me one of theirs. I told her how they had a unique product, and she mentioned that she had a bunch, maybe she should put some on ebay. They are in Kansas, and there is every possibility that she lives in or near Kansas City.
Now I see that the company that had contracted for these is black boxed out in all of the pics.
That would be awesome, as these are so hard to come by.
By the way, bidding on 2. |

Then hopefully there will be more of them coming available. The more of these that become available, the better. So far the best remote for DVR/PVR use I have seen from UEIC. |

What device is it in KM? "Atlas DVR" doesn't have all the buttons.
UPDATE: I found Capn's RM files and RDF. Nice work, Capn. Still would like to know what cable to use. |

we don't know for sure yet but assuming this is the same as existing OCAP remotes it will be a JP1.3 remote and need a JP1.x serial cable. |

Well, I don't know what happened, but it appears that he has shut down his auctions and a "Completed" items search shows no sales and says he is no longer a registered user. Can any of the previous posters confirm that they have, in fact, a completed sale on these?
As for the other posts/questions:
Thanks mdavej, I never buit an rdf, map or image file before, and it was fun. Granted, the rdf was already built for the 30333033 version of the 1055, but I had to change a few button names, and make some tweaks to get the correct map and image file associated with the rdf.
I have 5 Time Warner OCAP 1056s (black, no backlighting, nor learning) and 2 Sunflower OCAP 1056BCs (silver, backlit and learners). All use the same 30333033 signature. I would wager that these new ones will, as well (but I would wager YOUR money, not MINE ). I WOULD wager MY money that they will work with a JP1.2 cable (which works with JP1.2 and JP1.3 remotes), even if they come up with a new signature. I cannot imagine UEIC going BACKWARDS to a JP1 remote. _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first
