Post by mikegerard »

1. Device: LG BD370
2. Type of device: Bluray DVD player
3. Year: 2010
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: URC-6131 (old) extended
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? Yes
6. Still have original remote? Yes
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? No
10. Learning remote question? n/a
11. Have you tried the JP1 Lookup Tool? Yes, didn't find it

Found a BD390 file but I could not seem to get that work with the 6131.

Thanks,
Mike

BD390 file should work fine. Post your resulting IR and RM files so we can see the problem. My first guess it you forgot to change the remote model in RM or assign the device code in IR. FYI, in the Lookup Tool it's DVD code 0591.

When I put the bd390 codes into rm the first time I must have not had the right type of device selected. This time it was something other than dvd when I came in (forgot what it was) I changed it to dvd, copied the file to ir and everything worked just fine...

Thanks for the help.

If you have the latest and greatest RDF's and IR downloaded, IR will notifiy you if the setup code is invalid, and it gives you a code selector which lets you see the differentiate the upgrades from the built-in setup codes. I find this new selection method helps me avoid the type of error that I think you are describing here.
Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

Found a match and recorded the IR signals with the JP1 tools to create the respective files.
Remotes; JP1.2: Comcast URC-1067, JP1.3: Insignia NS-RC02U-10A, JP1.4 OARI06G, JP2.1: Cox URC-8820-MOTO (still trying to figure out how to make them self-aware.)
