Does the HTPro (URC9811) allow programming with a shift key?
Using the URC 7800's instructions on programming uisng the "shift key", will those instructions also work for the HTPro?
HTPro and Shift Key?

The HTPro has an LCD, so programming it is done differently. I would think it would be similar the the URC-8910. You can see the manual for the 8910 here.

The "shift" key for just about every JP1 remote is exactly the same, it's the "setup" button, which might be labelled "SET" or "SETUP" or "MAGIC" or "CODE SET" or "P".
Basically, it's whatever button you have to hold down until the LED flases twice, or the LCD screen changes, to do the programming.

What I was trying to say is that programming a shifted key will be different with the HTPro. Using it will be the same. The shift key is the SET key.

With the HTPro when I try to program a learned function to a shift key (setup button), I get an INVALID when I press the shift key (setup button) while the remote is in learning mode.
Please correct me if I'm wrong here but here's how I'm trying to use a shift key with the HTPro. Once I place the remote in learning mode, I press the shift key (setup button) before pressing the button I want the learned function on. Is this correct?

I just tried it and it does appear that the URC-8910 doesn't allow learning to shifted buttons (unless there's a key sequence that I'm not aware of).
However, you can learn signals to non-shifted buttons and then edit them in IR.exe to be on shifted buttons instead. I just tested this and it does work.
