Sorry, can't offer my usual service as ZaapTV is not a recognised manufacturer in the Logitech database so I cannot load the box on my Harmony remote to learn the codes.

Can I use a universal remote to read the ir codes in order then to be able to identify the codes?

Yes if the universal remote is a JP1 learning remote, and you have a JP1 cable so that you can read the codes.

You could ...
1. get an IR Widget and learn the signals using that
2. get a Philips Pronto and learn the signals using that
3. find somebody who has a widget, JP1 learning remote or a Pronto and send them your remote so they can learn the signals.

I believe that there is a roundabout way with the Harmony. I believe that you can learn the codes with your Harmony, and then when you go online to program the Harmony, doesn't Harmony's website take the codes that you learned and save them to their database?

Afterward, could not someone (alanrichey?) download the newly-saved code to their own Harmony and use it to "teach" a JP1 remote or a widget?

Convoluted, but in theory do-able, no?

Not only do-able but I have done it a couple of times in the past But if pap1973 has a Harmony he must have found his model on the Logitech database. I couldn't find Zaaptv at all.

So tell me how to load it on my Harmony and I will build a remote.

Please put the final result into my 'Slingbox' account. Username is 'slingboxes', password is 'password'. Then I can upload it onto my Harmony and learn the codes.

Got it. Unfortunately I am on holiday at the moment and didn't bring my 'learning' kit with me. I'll be able to build the remote on Sunday.

Sorry

Hi

OK, built the Remote and it is at https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=8470

A bit surprised you didn't define the number buttons, are they not used ?

Let me know how you get on,

Cheers

Hi Alan,

unfortunately you have named the bin files with C2010 and this custom code is already in use by me with the other device and I do not want to change a running system. Is it possible to rebuild the files with a different name?

Thx,
petros
