No it doesn't, it uses NEC1 131.95 What file are you looking at?
Wayne Harropson wrote:Let me try to simplify what obviously I have conflated.

That simple upgrade of the originator of the thread works (second link below). I can use it as it's own upgrade if all I want is V+ V-.

I don't really wish to do anything but use the good info that is available posted by successful posters here. But he failed to include all nine functions. My learned attempt of my own is a failure. The data is good but my use of it is bad because I don't understand it.

Please simply read 3fg's response in this thread that lead to the (incomplete) but good solution already posted and uploaded.

I will be happy to have a working stand alone upgrade 1517 (with all nine functions) or ideally a More complete upgrade that integrates the good working existing upgrade for my TV posted here:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=7623

With the good information from jhkoenig & 3FG and his incomplete upgrade posted here:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=7149

The former operates my TV correctly but doen't yet do the soundbar. My prior upload (ignore it) was an attempt to use NEC 4Dev Combo to add a device. I didn't know what I was doing.
Thank you so much for your forbearance!
Wayne
If you look at 3FGs post above, he posts all of the EFCs (and OBCs) that are needed for the upgrade. It's unfortunate that jhkoenig only included the volume buttons, but given that 3FG posted the codes for the rest of the buttons, I don't see what problems you would have had added the rest yourself, which is what I did.
Wayne Harropson wrote:I want to think that Rob snuck all the other buttons into the soundbar upgrade while I wasn't looking but I probably managed to overlook it originally.

Rob, are you there? Or did I have a senior moment when I first saw the upgrade?
I did indeed add them, and I updated the version number on the file when I did so and I posted back here saying that I had.

Rob, when I open the Sounbar file from the file section in RM 1.98Beta6 on my Vista laptop, it comes up with NEC2 305.149, which immediately generates errors in RM ("The value must be between 0 and 255")

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=7149

When I look at the rmdu file in Notepad, of course it shows 131.95, so there's something going on with my installation of RM, apparently.

Maybe I need to roll back to v1.97? Greg?

Hey Wayne!

Please upload your combined file that works everytnig to the file section and post a link here, so I can see what worked. I'm trying to figure out why my RM is giving me weird Dev numbers when I open that soundbar file.

Or move up to RM1.98beta6a. I had problems with beta6, but beta6a works great.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

Thanks, Vicky. I had no idea there was an updated variant. All works well now, although I'm still intrigued by Wayne's "learned" signal discrepancy. As long as what he has works, I guess it's OK, though.

Wayne,
I'd like to know if you have tested each of the 9 functions in the Sound Bar upgrade that Rob posted, and if the functions all provide the same behavior as the original remote.

Perhaps you've already posted that, but it isn't obvious to me.

To answer if I have tested each of the 9 functions from my learned signal the answer was yes I tested it, and no, it didn't work.

I was having a lot of problens not the least of which was that my dog bit the plug end of a cable. It was only working intermittently and under pressure while I was transferring learned signals. I was getting scetchy results and nothing was reliable until I replaced the plug. also IR8.1 was broken and didn't really get any good results until I uninstalled and reverted to IR7. By that time I lost all interest in exotic upgrades.. for the time.

Bottom line is Rob saved me by filling in the gaps on the subject upgrade of this thread and with the new plug everything came together.

I abandon the idea of combining the nine buttons into the TV 0178 since the Audio 1517 does everyything fine anyway. It would be a worthy persuit since both the TV is vizio and the soundbar is vizio and others likely would benefit, but the equipment is 40 miles away.. and .. maybe later.

It has been a few years since I've done it so I'm more than rusty.

I'm doing this for my Mom and Sister's new stuff and will be testing the results today. They live 40 miles away.

Rob, the site must have been pretty busy yesterday and at times unresponsive. I missed your post and responded when I first discovered the upgrade was complete but before reading your post and not realizing we were on the second page of posts already. Doh!

And my upgrade is your upgrade Rob. I couldn't do it better.

Sorry I misread a question.

Rob's changes worked well if I wasn't clear. I was only now able to confirm it now that Im with the equipment.
