I need to put together a emote with all sorts of Pioneer equipment, and I don't have access to the equipment, nor the remotes, so I can't just experiment with my widget until the signals look right.
The target remote is an Atlas 3033.

The basic signalas are a sigle device, but the inuputs and Ipod system are confusing me.
Which Pioneer protocol do I use?

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

This appears to be a standard Pioneer 2CMD protocol. Every 2 byte item starts with A5. This is the device number, sometimes also referred to as the prefix byte. The second bytes are the commands. For HDMI 1 --> A55E+A5CA, this is device 165 with CMD1 (OBC1) = 94 and CMD2 (OBC2) = 202.
So with the 3033 you can use setup code 0823, which is device 165. I think that yields EFC5 = 06550 with hex data 7A 53.
If the equipment used additional devices (eg. AA or AF) then you would probably need the the Pioneer MIX or 4 CMD. But those aren't in the 3033, and would take up more space.

Vicky. Why don't you just use one of the Pioneer upgrades in the file section (I presume that at issue in this particular post is a receiver). My upgrade here has all of those inputs and iPod functions included.

Captain, thanks I had pulled down several of the Receiver upgrades, but missed yours. This will save me a lot of work.
3fg, thanks for your insight. I looked at the signals, figured out the decimal values and never ever saw that both items were the same dev on each of the two part signals.
The person I'm doing this for also had a Pioneer Blue Ray disk player. That two part signals on that device used 2 different devices on each of the two part signals. I used the Pioneer DVD protocol which let me specify the device on each item. I then moved on to the receiver and was completely baffled when there were so many "prefix codes". I looked at the 2,3 &4 Dev Pioneer signals and couldnt' figure out what should be in the OBC2 column, because I didn't realize they used the same device! Doh!
Thanks ever so much!
