Smart MX satellite receiver

Post by rookie1 »

I am looking for an upgrade file for a Smart MX 05L (actually any Smart MX model should work) satellite receiver for use with my Slingbox.
It's a popular DVB-S receiver in Germany and apparently a clone of the Skyworth (S1E52-2SR).

So potentially these receivers (also clones of the Skyworth) might work as well:
Baff 9000
Bigsat Hv-7035
Delsat DSR 555 FTA
Digibox 70400
Digiquest FTA 6400
Digital M40
Digital M50
Digital Telecom X 400
Digitalbox Imperial DB 1
Echospace 7000Ultra
Edison Tyran
Fair Mate 7002
Fair Mate X01
Mediasat Strong Plus
Micro-X MDR 2900 FTA
Rex 9000
Smart Mobilo II
Smart MX 03
Smart MX 04
Strong S630SC
Taplin 9000
Wodex WX 1000 FTA

Any help is appreciated!

There are few upgrades for Strong here and in the same section. Do any of them have the codes you are looking for?

I only have information by manufacturer and I'm afraid you are going to have a hard hunt in front of you.

I looked for most of the brands you mentioned and couldn't find any common ground between Smart and the other brands in the official codes.

I found 14 official SAT codes for Smart, 27 codes for Strong, 1 for BigSAT, 4 for digiquest, 1 for Edison, 4 for MediaSat and 4 for REX. And none of the setup codes was used by the others.

Are you committed enough to work through nearly 55 codes to find if we have a possible match? And if I provide you with a list, will you post an upgrade with your model number for the next person?

I am at least commited enough to work through the 14 Smart codes :)

If by "work through" you mean creating the .bin with the RemoteControl program and upload it to the slingbox to see if it works.
If you mean something different, please explain further, i am a newbie in this area :)

EDIT:
Yes, i tested the various Strong codes posted here and they didn't work.

By work through I mean create the RM files and do whatever you need to do to create a bin file.

I'll look up the protocol information and efc's and have them for you tomorrow.

I prepared a list of codes that are associated with the brands you mentioned. After I rechecked my work, the number of possible codes went down.
This file lists the information you'd need to build each RM file. The first 14 are Smart satellite codes.

If you find a hit, please post your RM file as well as your Bin file so that JP1 users will have the information too.

Happy hunting!

I created the RM files for the Smart models in the code list and uploaded them here.

I haven't been able to test them yet, as i need to agree on a timeslot for a remote setup session with the "hoster" of the Slingbox in Germany :)
Hopefully that happens in the next days. I will report back then.
