Is there a guide on how to open this case? I have removed the screw in the battery compartment and can open it about a 3rd up the case but it wont open further and I dont want to damage it. Thanks

You just need to pop open the tabs along the side of the casing. Personally, I use a plastic putty knife, but an old credit card would also work (you will tear up the card, so don't use one of your current cards).

Slide the knife or card into the opening and then forcee it along the edge to open the rest of the tab clips.

Check out Tommy Tyler's guides for opening UEIC remotes. There is a generic one, and specific ones for the 6131n and for the 15-100. I'm sure there's enough guidance there to help you open your remote up safely.

Skip the 6131n doc as that remote has a completely different casing to normal remotes. The 6131n doc would be useful for remotes like the URC-8820 though.
