Adding Upgrade from URC

Post by jmcgee »

I have a 9910B01. First, how do I know whether that is 9910(new) or 9910(old) in RemoteMaster.

I have a Onkyo TX-8522, 0135 did not work, so I got URC to send me wav file with 1225 and 1805, which both work. I put that in remote through speaker, and it controlled receiver, but blew out my settings in DVD I had for MythTV.

After getting the wave file into 9910, I downloaded the remote using IR and saved it. I can upload the Onkyo setup remote .IR file just fine to the remote. Or upload the setup I had prior with DVD and TV settings, but no Onkyo support.

so using instructions at
http://controlremote.sourceforge.net/Re ... l#advanced
Import Raw Upgrade, I opened Onkyo IR file in IR, copied it to RemoteMaster 1.90, copied protocol.

Then opened previous working IR file (without Onkyo support) in IR, and pasted output of RemoteMaster to new device. No joy.

So I tried just making new IR file, nothing else, that doesn't work.

what am I missing here?

If it helps, here is upgrade from Onkyo IR file:

The only difference between the new and old 8910 is that the old version has a donut ring for the navigation buttons, while the new one has individual buttons. That just changes the image used on RM's Layout tab.

Zip up your .IR file with the WAV file, the .rmdu file you created, and the .IR file with the .rmdu loaded. Upload to the diagnosis area, then come back and post a link to it.

You don't actually need RM to complete this operation. All you need to do is open the first IR file (the one that you're going to trash), select an upgrade, make a note of the setup code then click edit and cut and paste the hex code to notepad.

Then open the second IR file (the one that you're going to keep), go to the devices tab, click add, paste the hex from the previous step and enter the setup and device type (use the same device type that you used before, and if "Protocol > FF" was checked before, check it here).
