Please provide links to any files you are referencing.
That said, ANY Onkyo upgrade is likely to work for you. I would humbly recommend that you try THIS ONE (in which I attempted to consolidate every function from all of the Onkyo receivers seen to date). _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first

You really hit the jackpot with this one.
First off, the file that he's referring to is this one...
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=5699
The upgrades in that file are formatted for the URC-7781 which is not yet included in the standard RDF zip file, so you would need to download it seperately from here...
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=5698
That will let you open the upgrade using RM, however, this particular upgrade uses the 'not very well documented' $017E protocol, which is an NEC combo protocol. The current protocols.ini file only supports the HCS08 version (which is what the URC-7781 uses), so if you select any other type of remote RM will tell you that it won't work.
Most of our other remotes are S3C8 remotes, so to make those work you would need to add the following to the [pid: 01 7E] entry in protocols.ini:
Code.S3C80=43 8B 62 8B 12 CF 44 08 08 01 18 01 06 01 18 03 39 D2 DC 11 94 08 B6 E6 10 02 68 0A
08 C6 56 C0 03 87 20 04 08 C6 56 C0 0C E0 C0 E0 C0 87 30 04 39 0C 29 04 F6 FF 5F 37 6F 0F 37 6D
06 F6 01 46 46 29 0D 46 29 01 8D 01 49 E4 08 05 E4 08 06 60 06 F6 01 46 E4 0C 04 F6 FF 5F 37 6D
E6 8B DE E4 09 05 E4 09 06 60 06 AF
But it doesn't stop there. You want to use the antique URC-9811 HTPro remote (which is the UEI version of the standard One For All URC-9800 remote) and this is a "Mitsubishi 740" remote, so it needs the protocol in yet another assembly language and we don't have the Mits740 code for the $017E protocol. (Btw, when you're using RM to program this remote, don't select "HTPro" as your remote, because that will select the URC-9910 remote, you should select "URC-9800 Producer 8").
You'd be better off selecting a simpler Onkyo upgrade (like this one, which uses the NEC1 combo). _________________ Rob

The newer 9910 clone did, I never seen a the black 9800 in person. I owned about 6 of the newer verson htpro and each carried the urc-9811 model # on back. I bought 3 from tweeter, which I thought was a great deal, until the x10 deal showed, and I bought another 3. Don't have single one left, last one I shipped to Korea.
If you want to buy one of the older black remotes, you get it for $150 off this ebayer, is only been trying to sell it for some 5 years. _________________ Edmund |
