We have an exact match to your recorder in the file section, are you sure that you tried this file and it didn't work?

It doesn't matter which remote the upgrade was originally created for. Just to eliminate the chance of user error, you should load a copy of your IR file (with the upgrade present) into the file section (and then post a link to it here) so we can check it.

I don't know what upgrade you are using, but it's not the one for your device. Although it calls for the correct protocol (0058), you have the wrong fixed data ("80 30" vice "95 30 5A 55") and by inspection the hex commands in your IR file's upgrade do not match those in the upgrade. You should do it again, and if it still doesn't work, then upload your upgrade file and provide a link.

I don't have the JP1 tools here, but from reading the txt file, it appears that this upgrade uses a custom protocol that has not been translated for the processor in the 10820.

Didn't this give an ERROR Protocol can not be translated?

We KNOW the source file. I suggested that you upload YOUR MODIFED upgrade file for someone to see where you made an error.

This upgrade is for a URC-6131 (not RS 15-1994), and does NOT translate into the upgrade you have in IR. You have made a mistake somewhere. Open that linked file in RM (you will have to change the "Files of Type" selection in the "Open" dialog box to "KeyMapMaster device upgrade files"). Then change the remote to your remote and reassign the buttons as you desire. The upgrade will be different than what you have in IR right now.

This opens in RM and KM as a standard URC-6131 file using the RC6 protocol. Am I missing something?

You do not require a 6131. The existing upgrade is for the 6131. You open it in RM or KM and CHANGE the remote to YOUR remote. I have done this and it works fine. Here is the upgrade.

Code: Select all

Upgrade Code 0 = 47 F2 (PVR/2034) Philips DVD Recorder DVDR-3400/37 (RM v1.86)
 58 00 FE FE FC EE C1 95 30 5A 55 03 04 05 06 07
 08 09 0C 0F 1D 01 02 00 21 28 1E 41 42 37 31 41
 4B FA 5B 5C 7E 82 58 83 5A 1F EE 20 C8 DF 94 59
 DE 3F CF
KeyMoves
 90 F0 04 47 F2 D1 84«Recording mode: Recording mode»¦
 02 F0 04 47 F2 94 6E«Setup: Setup»¦
End
Unfortunately, I cannot assign the buttons as YOU would like them, so it may not be the way you would prefer.

You obviously copied the upgrade from KM (or RM) without first changing the remote from the URC-6131 to the URC-8820.

I changed the remote and re-arranged some of the buttons for you, and then replaced your file.

In the GENERAL TAB make sure the KEYMAP = STANDARD, or the functions will be on the wrong buttons.
