error loading upgrade

the upgrade file you are loading is for the remote "15-2117 / 15-2116".
There is no remote with that exact name. please choose the best match.

Does this error matter? Im using a 8910 remote. Also I dont know what Extender 1 means. I bought this new off ebay and Im using a simple parallel port.

After I set this up and try to upload it to the device I am told that the device that the code was made for is a different model than what is connected. can someone help me please?

Yes, this is an important message. What this means is that RM couldn't automatically figure what remote the device upgrade you are loading was originally written for.

In this case, you want to choose either "RS 15-2116" or "RS 15-2117". The only difference between these remote is that the 15-2117 includes an RF transmitter.

After you've loaded the upgrade, you must change the remote to the one you are using before copying to IR for upload to your remote.

This procedure is documented in JP1 - Just How Easy Is it?, specifically in the section How Do You Load An Upgrade?

If you are still stuck, post a link the upgrade file you are trying to load, or to your IR file (after you upload it to the Diagnosis Area)
