Need a bit of help urc-7550 and philips dvdr890

Post by thedavid »

I have learned a lot from this forum and managed to make a jp1 and can now upgrade my one4all urc-7550. The problem is that although I can find some philips dvd device codes from the yahoo group, there isn't one for my dvdr890. I've tried using the device codes for the other philips dvd recorders and I can partially control my dvd recorder, but the up and right arrow keys don't work. How hard would it be to find the right codes for the arrow keys using trial and error?

If you still have the original remote for the DVD player, you can teach the functions that do not work and then download from the remote to IR. In the "Learned Signal" tab, you will see functions you taught and get the info (Protocol, Device, Subdevice, and OBC) you need to modify or make a new upgrade file in RM or KM.
Remember to upload upgrade file to the device upgrades section when you are done to add to the database here.

I don't have the original remote.

There's several upgrades in the file section here for Philips DVD's. One of them might work for you.
