FreeBox HD codes provided and help needed

Post by joe_candle »

In France there is an ADSL TV Box called Freebox HD. It also acts as PVR.

I have found some files on JP1 to control it with Slingbox. A pcf format file that must be complete, and RV and PL files that are missing the red, yellow, green and blue buttons.

The protocol is Nokia32 and the Protocol ID is 01 73 . The Setup code is 1750.

I have posted them on

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=5114

Can anyone help decode the Red yellow, green and Blue buttons to add them to the PL / RV files?

Anyone knows how to translate a pcf file into a Remote master file?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe

Freebox HD color keys

Post by joe_candle »

I have posted a new file that contains all the Freebox HD (v5) codes in Pronto including the color keys (red, yel, green, blue)

It is in
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=5137

Please help me use the color keys in slingbox. Even if it is different remote file and protocol for color than for the other keys.

Any file that can control the color keys, even if it doesn't control the rest would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe

To fill in the blanks, here is the RM file that Joe is using:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3728

According to IRTool, all the regular buttons decode as Nokia32, device 36 but the color buttons decode as Nokia32, device 36.12

Hopefully John, or someone else who knows how the Nokia protocols work will know how to program these.

Yes the file I used to convert to Slingbox in RM is the file that Robman is pointing to above.

The devices might be different between the color keys and the other keys. All the other keys are functionning in Slingbox, except the color keys. The color keys have 36.12 as their device.

What is weird is that red, green and blue all give the same device and the same OBC, EFC in IRtool decode (OBC 0, EFC 18). Even though the hex code is different. The yellow gives same device but different OBC (128 obc and 14 EFC)

We need an expert in Nokia32 protocol or there may be a problem with IRtool.

If someone can issue an rmdu file just for the 4 color buttons, that would be fine. I can convert it to Slingbox format and use it as another video remote.

Thanks for any help,

Joe

I decoded the first seven signals in the txt file of Pronto Hex that you posted:

Red: Device=36.12 OBC=0 X=2
Yellow: Device=36.12 OBC=128 X=0
Blue: Device=36.12 OBC=0 X=1
Green: Device=36.12 OBC=0 X=4
Power: Device=36.0 OBC=12 X=38
Guide: Device=36.0 OBC=204 X=38
zero: Device=36.0 OBC=0 X=38

The X portion of the signal seems to be used in a variety of different ways in different devices using nokia32 protocol. In this case, I'm not sure what it means, but it seems to be the only thing distinguishing Red, Blue and Green.

I haven't had time yet to review Nokia32 support in KM or RM to see how you manage the X value.

Thank you John.

This is weird indeed.

All other keys are consistent and are working in the rmdu and the slingbox file. Only the color keys are the problem.

Nokia32 protocol seems quite mysterious.

If anyone can issue an rmdu file just for the 4 color buttons, that would be all I need. I can convert it to Slingbox format (with RM) and use it as another video remote.

Thanks for any help,

Joe

Looks like you need a SEPARATE upgrade for EACH of those color buttons.

Unless somebody can create a Nokia32 Combo Protocol which would allow you to combine those varying "X" values in a single upgrade.

The plot thickens. Any charitable mind willing to solve this mystery?

The button that I need the most is the GREEN button.

Please help with an rmdu or pl file.

I just need an rmdu file with the green button only.

Anyone?

Is there a problem with just starting up RM, selection Slingbox PL or JU or RV or PK remote type and then using Device=36, SubDevice=12 and X=4? Create a Function with OBC=00 and assign that function to a button. Export the Slingbox BIN file.

Here.

The zip contains four RM upgrade files, one for each color button. It also contains four RV BIN files and four PL BIN files. Each BIN will only control a SINGLE color button with the "Select" function on the Sling remote. The RV BIN files are small, but the PL ones are big, since a protocol upgrade is incorporated. I don't remember the specifics, but I believe there is a maximum size restriction on Sling BIN upgrades, so those may be too big. You never specified which version Slingbox you have.

1751 for Blue
1752 for Red
1753 for Green
1754 for Yellow

I don't know if this will help you in any way, but there it is, for what it's worth.

Good luck.

I hacked the Nokai32 protocol so you can use all Color buttons in one upgrade.

Edit RM's protocol.ini and add this

Code: Select all

[Nokia32 Hacked for FreeBox HD V5 Color Buttons]
PID=01 72
DevParms=Device,Sub Device,X,High X-bit:Constant|Toggle|Release
DeviceTranslator=Translator(3,8,0) Translator(0,8,8) Translator(1,8,16) Translator(2,8,24)
FixedData=00 00 00 00
CmdParms=OBC=0
CmdTranslator=Translator()
Code.S3C80=47 93 41 8B 15 00 00 54 00 77 00 54 00 CA 00 54 01 1D 00 54 01 71 00 D0 00 77 E4 07 06 56 06 0F 56 07 F0 A6 0D 02 EB 03 E6 0D 12 76 03 01 6B 08 76 00 01 6B 03 B6 06 80 F6 FF 5F 6C 09 F6 01 0A FB 0B C6 F8 13 88 F6 01 58 6A F2 8B EB 76 03 02 EB 01 AF C6 F8 13 88 F6 01 58 6A F7 46 06 80 1C 22 F6 01 4C B0 C4 87 34 04 F6 FF 75 4E 37 44 F6 1C 12 8D 01 4C 5C 04 90 C3 90 C3 08 C3 56 C0 03 86 04 C0 06 C1 12 F6 01 4C 5A EC AF
The hacked protocol uses the Top nibble of the hex cmd for the top nibble of the OBC(bot nibble is zero) and the Bottom nibble for the X value(top nibble is zero).
80h => OBC=80 X=0
01h => OBC=0, X=1
02h => OBC=0, X=2
04h => 0BC=0, X=4

I've uploaded an RMDU file here.

Wow!!! You certainly know a lot about Nokia32 protocol.

This is like chinese to me but I will try the upgrade this weekend as an extra video device.

I will report if it works.

In any instance, thanks a lot for all the help. It must have taken you quite some time to do it.

This forum is outstanding and the people are great!

Thanks a million, Binky,

I have tried it and it works PERFECTLY. Just load this remote as another video input device.

You have to switch back and force between devices to switch remotes for the other normal buttons. But this remote takes care of the four color buttons at once.

Not ideal. Hope Slingplayer can do better next time for multi remotes.

But to me, it is priceless, because these color buttons are rarely used (to erase recordings and free up hard disk space, etc.).
