Missing OBC values in the protocol?

Post by Loschack »

Hi.

I've got some signals from my URC6690, which has learnt them from my original ADB remote. I've read that signals with IR 7.02, and I'm trying to put them into RM, but IR shows me only the protocol name (Dreambox) with some numbers - all in one column, without any OBC / HEX, etc. values - it looks like this Image

Any ideas where I can get these values from?

Regards.

2 things:

(1) You are better off uploading your learned IR file to the diagnosis area and posting a link to it here; and

(2) Your image link activates an automatic link to a gambling website, potentially causing some ... discomfort or embarrassment ... for those who work in an environment where access to such sites is prohibited.

(1) OK, I will, I just thought, that someone already have seen such situation and knows the solution how to read such protocol

(2) ??? it's a simple link to the image hosted by ImageShack (I've uploaded my screenshot there, as it was suggested in this sticky thread: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6557

I need to find time to complete my changes to DecodeIR and protocols.ini for the XMP protocol (what in the earlier released versions was called "Dreambox").

The eight digit hex number at the end of each of those decodes gives all the information (that must go into fixed data and hex command in an upgrade using PID 016C) but I forget which hex digit goes where.

In the "Dreambox" decodes, we have an arbitrary assignment of various hex digits into "device", "subdevice", and "OBC". Your signal doesn't even fit within that assignment.

In the "XMP" decode system there is a different arbitrary assignment of the hex digits into "device", "subdevice", and "OBC". I think that version at least covers all XMP signals we've seen. But we don't have protocols.ini (or KM) support for that system (and I haven't distributed version 2.36 of DecodeIR.dll that reports these signals as XMP).

Use RM, select your remote(Slingbox JU, PK, PL, RV), and the 016C protocol with device0=25 device1=63 device2=68 device3=42 which generates fixed data of 19 3F 44 2A.

Your OBC values will be the last 4 digits of your learned signals. CH+=09 00, CH-=20 00, VOL+=08 00, VOL-=28 00.

Don't worry about it. Sometimes image shack uses pop-up ads and some people don't have pop-up blockers, so I'm guessing it just happened to be a pop-up advertising a gambling facility.

Oh I have pop-up blockers, but in my particular environment at work, the blocked pop-up triggers an alert, reporting that I attempted to access an unauthorised site, and if I get too many of those alerts, "questions" get asked.

Then what happens, is it a "court martial" situation or just a "drop and give me 20" situation??? ;)

I could tell ya, but then I'd hafta kill ya.

Nah, it's OK for the occassional "hit", the powers that be understand that many such "re-directions" occur and are not deliberate attempts to engage in forbidden activities, but if a pattern emerges of many attempts to access forbidden sites, administrative actions can result, like loss of access :x , loss of security clearance , loss of job , loss of family  . You know the drill.

Hello binky123,
I can't get RM software to work, I downloaded it, even tried with old versions but when I click on the .exe file to install it, a popup shows up with the message "The trial has expired". I don't know why, because I never installed it anyway... maybe it doesnt support WinXP ?

Anyway, can you or someone else convert that rmdu file in the link to bin slingbox format? I want to test it, cause I tried all the other recent dreambox bin files in the upload and none of them is working. Thanks
